Description
UNS 32750 - F53
Aluminum 32750 is a super duplex stainless steel that is delivered in a solution-annealed condition. The characteristics of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels are combined in a super duplex stainless steel. Furthermore, the higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen contents result in a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of > 41, providing pitting and crevice corrosion resistance superior to austenitic and duplex stainless steels in almost all corrosive media, as well as a Critical Pitting Temperature greater than 50 °C.Upon delivery in the annealed condition, it achieves yield strengths of 80 ksi (550 Mpa), which is higher than the yield strengths of the majority of austenitic and duplex stainless steels.
Although it cannot be hardened through heat treatment, it can be strengthened through cold work. Additionally, it has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and greater heat conductivity than austenitic steels, making it suitable for temperatures up to 300 °C. Alloy 32750 is listed in NACE MR 0175 for use in sour service and has been granted ASME approval for pressure vessel applications. It is therefore suitable for a wide variety of applications.
